Curry Cares is a community-focused charitable initiative by Roofing by Curry, based in Sarasota, Florida. The program is designed to provide high-quality, free roof replacements to local families and individuals facing significant financial or personal hardships.
Originally inspired by the "No Roof Left Behind" program, Roofing by Curry launched Curry Cares as its own independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit to ensure that neighbors in need have a safe, dry home.
The project is fueled by the company's "Why Worry" philosophy, fulfilling our mission to make a positive impact on our customers, team members, and community.
Community members can nominate themselves, a friend, or a neighbor who is struggling.
A committee narrows the nominations down to four finalists based on the urgency of the repair, their capacities, and the nominee's personal story.
The public votes on the finalists via the Curry Cares website, and the nominee with the most votes receives a brand-new roof at no cost.
The program runs twice a year, with nomination cycles occurring from Winter to Spring and Summer to Fall.
To qualify, the home must be the nominee's primary residence in Sarasota or Manatee County, and they must be current on their mortgage and property taxes.
Curry Cares often partners with organizations like Habitat for Humanity Sarasota to identify vulnerable homeowners, such as seniors on fixed incomes or those with disabilities.
Since its inception, Curry Cares has provided dozens of free roofs to local families and individuals facing significant financial or personal hardships.
Every roof installed means one more neighbor has a safe, dry home and one less family has to worry about the roof over their head.
